Dream Travel Destinations of 2018

Now that the first two months of the year are officially over, we feel it’s fair for us to start planning our holidays for the rest of the year! Though it’s almost impossible to balance work, travel and real life; it never hurts to dream. We’ve picked a few spots that we’ve never been to and that we’re dying to check out. If you’ve been to any of these, definitely let us know in the comments section!

Tuscany, Italy

If we had to travel to one country every single year, Italy would be it. Great food, incredible wine, centuries of history and so much to see. Italy is an affordable and beautiful destination for anyone who wants to explore Europe and its history. Though we’ve been to all the big cities, this year we hope to explore the villages of Tuscany. Each one has its own story and way of life and we think that exploring those rolling vineyards will make the perfect road trip.

Darjeeling, India

We sometimes get so caught up thinking about where in the world we’d like to go that we forget how much beauty and diversity India has. Sitting in the foothills of the Himalayas, Darjeeling is famed for the tea that grows on its vast plantations. With beautiful monasteries set against the backdrop of Mt. Kanchenjunga, we think that this will be the perfect mix of culture, adventure and calm.

Galle, Sri Lanka

Can you believe we haven’t made it to Sri Lanka yet! Even though this island is so close to us, we always find ourselves stuck in a situation where the trip becomes delayed. This year though we are committed to exploring this beautiful country. Galle sits on the southwest tip of Sri Lanka and is a fortified old city that was actually founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese. This means that you will find an incredible mix of east and west, with Sri Lankan architecture mixed in with Dutch heritage. It’s also got a nice beach nearby and that’s always a huge attraction!

A Cruise Through the Norwegian Fjords

Fjords are deep, narrow inlets that have been created by glaciers and are magnificent to look at. Scandinavia, especially Norway, is famous for its many fjords and we think that a cruise through this area would be an incredible experience. With a coastline of 29,000km, Norway is home to almost 2,000 fjords where you are likely to see dramatic waterfalls and verdant mountains. A cruise through this ethereal landscape is something that, even if we don’t get to this year, we will definitely do at some point in our lives!
